Dive into History & Nature

Stroll Through Newport’s Historic District

Wander through colonial-era streets lined with centuries-old buildings—discover the White Horse Tavern (est. 1673), Trinity Church, and more preserved treasures that evoke early American life. Especially noteworthy would be a walk around the Point with great views of the Newport Bridge.

Sunday Live Music at Newport Vineyards

Every Sunday through mid-October (including this weekend), enjoy live tunes from 1 PM to 4 PM, plus a brunch special featuring oysters and rosé.

Safe Harbor Newport Brokerage Show

At Newport Shipyard, this free event (Sept 11–14) features 40–140 ft yachts on display, plus dockside cafés and lively harbor atmosphere.

Visit the International Tennis Hall of Fame, or Sailing Museum

Even if you’re not a tennis fan, the museum and grounds are beautifully maintained and filled with interesting exhibits, and the new Sailing Museum on Thames has been very well received.

Newport is known as the Sailing Capital of the Country — enjoy a sunset cruise, chartered sailboat, or classic schooner tour to take in the coastline from the water. Talk to Amo (JR) for suggestions!

Take a Harbor Cruise or Sail

First Beach (Easton’s Beach), Second Beach, and Third Beach all offer great spots to soak in some sun or enjoy a morning or evening walk. Post-Labor Day everything is free and parking should be no problem. Hopefully.

Relax at the Beach

On September 14 in neighboring Bristol (a 15-min drive), enjoy live music across 20+ porches on historic High Street—a charming, free, family-friendly festival.
